β¨About OpenBullion
Building the open precious metals ecosystem
OpenBullion's mission is to develop an accessible, transparent precious metal-backed ecosystem that levels the financial playing field and democratizes the world's best money.
The why of OpenBullion
Since the failure of the Bretton Woods system in 1971, when the United States removed the convertibility of dollars to gold at a rate of $35 USD/troy oz (thus removing the need to hold enough gold in reserve to cover all dollars printed), the world has experienced a critical loss of purchasing power. Precious metals, on the other hand, continue to preserve purchasing power and protect against monetary inflation.
It's with this in mind that we start the long road of building the OpenBullion ecosystem.
